Here's a sketch I did for the Ozcomics Draw-Off #23 - The Tick. A category I got to pick 'coz I won the Red Lantern Draw-off the previous week!
It's supposed to be like a Black Swan/ Fight Club type moment between The Tick and Arthur. Seeing as Arthur doesn't have a superhero name and the Tick doesn't have a citizen type name. The Tick's line suggests he broke the mirror and wall and is standing in the next room, but isn't that exactly what you'd tell yourself if were crazy?
I didn't have time to clean-up the linework or paint the colours nicely, so I'm saying the rough textures and scratchy linework are intentional to portray mental torment. I'm disappointed about how pressed for time and creative energy I was this week, I'd hoped to an epic drawing with characters from the comics (huge gang of ninjas), the cartoon ( Dinosuar Neil) and tv series (Captain Liberty and Bat Manuel) altogether- I got as far as a rough layout and some sketches ( like this one):
All the work I ended up doing on the mirror piece was done late at night while at work, waiting.
Here's the Red lantern pic I did a few weeks ago. The challenge was to draw any character at all as a Red Lantern Corps- Super Evil blood vomiting psycho version of the Green Lanterns. I drew G'Nort, a bumbling mustachioed dog man alien in an unflattering jump suit and vest from Green Lantern, I based it on a picture I found of Atroticus standing in a pool of lava/blood with a big fiery red lantern behind him. Also done late at night (over two nights) at work while waiting for renders:
