HULK CHALLENGE
This is a Hulk picture I drew for the Ozcomics Facebook Draw-off #8 -Hulk.
My first idea was to do a really detailed cross-hatched illustration:-
Then I blocked in the colours, and that looked cool without the lines showing:
and I messed around with all sorts of textures and painterly brushes to get rid of the computer sterile look and to distract from the dodginess in the line drawing- like the farthest eye being squinty, making the face a bit asymmetric and his jaw, chest and genereal proportions not being particularly Hulk-like.
The versions without the line work look like the Minimalist DC Superhero Mugshot pieces that Michael Myers did.

Frankly, I think each of these three look more stylish than the one with them all together. But, the linework was the only thing I didn't do on the computer.
Here's also a less textured, more shadowed version, it's closer to what I was originally intending to do, but I got tired of doing the hatching, so the shadow areas weren't as dark as I planned.
